A PROMISE TO HELP MISSIONS
“A Promise To HELP” is a Birmingham, Alabama based 501(c)(3) non-profit healthcare volunteer organization, sponsored by The Spirit of Luke Charitable Foundation, whose goal has been to assist in eliminating healthcare disparities in the under-served, underprivileged, and under-insured populations of the Black Belt region of Alabama since 2003.
Aided by a mobile medical van, APTH mobilizes a monthly volunteer workforce of doctors, nurses and other healthcare and social services professionals to offer free medical services and counseling to the people of Alabama Black Belt region.
APTH partners with local communities, government agencies, corporations and local charitable organizations to provide these services in hopes of proving that people inspiring people with hope, acts of love and compassion will be the catalyst to improving the health and well being of the individuals in Alabama Black Belt.
“A Promise to HELP” is especially grateful because 2023 marked 20 years of providing free medical and counseling services to the people in the Black Belt of Alabama where diabetes is very prevalent in the region, and has had a very debilitating impact on the lives of the individuals with it. Over the 19 years of service, “A Promise to HELP” has had nearly 7,500 volunteers to deliver medical examinations and treatment to more than 6,800 patients, provided approximately 22,500 hot meals, distributed over 17,500 bags of clothes and 3,750 book bags, while offering spiritual counseling and conversion to nearly 3,100 men, women and children.
